STA Impianti in Bologna, Italy has launched a new coffee roaster intended for small-scale production or as a lab roaster.
“The RBL 15 was developed in response to the demands of labs and small and medium-size roasters, to roast small batches of coffee, or as a platform for the development of roast profiles to be replicated on production-scale machines,” the company said.
“The RBL 15 can be used for the production of pilot batches of different types of coffee, in order to establish the parameters to process medium or large production batches on machines with a larger production capacity, such as STA Impianti’s Futura and Millenium series,” the company told C&CI. “At the same time, the machine is ideal for processing specialty coffee for specific market niches or for micro-roasting.”
Among the roasters who have already ordered the RBL 15 are Caffè Morettino, Dicaf and Caffè Griso. The machine provided to the latter is a special version of the RBL 15, configured to roasting a range of coffees, from 2kg to 19kg.
